Some Reasons People Seek Individual Counselling

I believe therapy is for everyone, for the big things, the little things, and everything in between.

Individuals reach out to me seeking support with:

  • Feeling stuck in emotional or relationship patterns that keep repeating

  • Anxiety, overwhelm, overthinking, and chronic stress

  • Childhood trauma, difficult early experiences, and their lasting impact

  • Burnout, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and difficulty slowing down

  • Shame, self-criticism, anger, or guilt that feels difficult to shift

  • Understanding why you react the way you do, but still finding yourself caught in the same patterns

  • Relationship challenges, attachment wounds, and fear of conflict, rejection, or disconnection

  • Feeling disconnected from yourself, your emotions, your body, or your sense of identity

  • Feeling pulled in different directions internally, or struggling between wanting closeness and wanting to withdraw

  • Memories, experiences, or losses that still feel emotionally unresolved

  • Life transitions, including separation/breakups, parenthood, career changes, or migration

  • Cultural identity, intergenerational experiences, and navigating different cultural expectations

Where We Can Begin

You might have a good understanding of yourself. You may have read the books, listened to the podcasts, thought a lot about where your patterns come from — and still find yourself reacting in ways you don't fully understand.

I work with adults who want to better understand themselves, their relationships, and the patterns they find themselves caught in — particularly when they know something intellectually but still find themselves responding in ways they don't fully understand or know how to change.

You might be dealing with anxiety, overwhelm, relationship difficulties, self-criticism or the lasting impact of earlier life experiences. Or you might not have a particular problem you can even name. You may just have a sense that something isn't quite right, that you keep ending up in the same place, or that you'd like to understand yourself more deeply.

Therapy can be a space to slow things down and make sense of what you're experiencing — including the emotions, reactions, relationships and experiences that have shaped you.

You don't need to arrive knowing exactly what you want to work on. We can start with what's happening for you now and work from there.

Individual Work on Relationship Patterns

Relationships with others ask us to be in close relationship with our Self.

Sometimes the challenges in your relationships will mirror patterns you’ve carried since childhood, such as attachment styles, people‑pleasing, perfectionism, or boundary struggles that can leave you feeling stuck.

Individual therapy focused on relationship patterns offers a space to:

Understand your attachment style and how early experiences shape your needs and fears.

  • Heal relational ruptures and inner‑child wounds that still influence your interactions.

  • Build self‑compassion so you can bring your whole self to relationships.

  • Set and maintain healthy boundaries with less guilt and anxiety.

Understand codependency or over‑accommodating patterns that drain your energy.

When you heal your relationship with yourself, you transform how you show up for others.
